Arthroscopic Suture Fixation of Tibial Eminence Fracture

چکیده

Background: Tibial eminence fractures account for up to 5% of knee injuries with an effusion in the pediatric population. Displaced require reduction and operative fixation via arthroscopic or open techniques. Indications: Arthroscopic suture screw are 2 most commonly described techniques tibial fracture treatment. We describe our preferred technique given versatility this decreased risks hardware irritation impingement, need reoperation, minimal risk physeal damage. Technique Description: The uses a standard anteromedial anterolateral portal. After bed hematoma debrided any interposing structures (ie, meniscus) removed from site, nonabsorbable sutures passed through substance anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Using ACL guide, separate transtibial tunnels drilled bone bridge between—one at aspect base one aspect. One limb each is pulled out tunnels. fragment then reduced, tensioned fixated using knotless anchors. Results: Overall prognosis following favorable more than 80% patients returning prior level activity. Arthrofibrosis may occur 25% patients. Although some residual laxity remain, there high return sport no difference rate subsequent injury surgery compared match cohort reconstructions. Discussion: displaced reliable low reoperation. common; thus, early, controlled range motion critical.

Arthroscopic suture fixation of tibial eminence fractures.

Tibial eminence avulsion fractures are relatively rare injuries, most frequently occurring in skeletally immature patients. Screws or suture fixation can be used, with each offering different potential advantages. The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of a suture fixation technique for displaced tibial eminence avulsion fractures using the Rotator Cuff Gu...

Modified arthroscopic suture fixation of displaced tibial eminence fractures using a suture loop transporter.

Current arthroscopic suture fixation techniques of tibial eminence fractures are time consuming and the number of anchor sutures that can be placed is limited by the cumbersome and repetitive numerous needle threading steps. This occurs at 2 stages: first, when placing anchoring sutures through the avulsed anterior cruciate ligament stump with a suture punch, and second, when there is a need to...

Treatment of tibial eminence fractures with arthroscopic suture fixation technique: a retrospective study.

AIMS The present study aims to investigate the clinical outcomes of arthroscopic suture fixation in treating tibial eminence fracture with a retrospective study design of two years' follow-up. METHODS A total of 33 patients with imaging evidence of tibial eminence avulsion fractures who underwent arthroscopic surgery between 2008 and 2012 were included in this study. The inclusion criteria fo...

Biomechanical evaluation of tibial eminence fractures using suture fixation.

This study evaluates the initial fixation strength of tibial eminence fracture repair using 1, 2, 3, and 4 sutures to determine the optimal number of sutures required to adequately secure the avulsed fragment to the tibia. Sixteen skeletally immature porcine knees were stripped of all soft tissues, isolating the femur-anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)-tibia complex. Type III tibial eminence frac...

Tibial Eminence Fracture Repair With Double Hewson Suture Passer Technique

Displaced tibial eminence fractures are commonly encountered in pediatric patients and are often considered to be functionally equivalent to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture. While a variety of techniques are available for fixation of this injury, we describe an anchorless technique relying on suture fixation tied over a bone bridge. This technique also relies on two intra-articular ...
